Every Step Counts (ESC)

The ‘Every Step Counts’ Tutor Centre offers a homeschooling experience with one-on-one education and small group integration for children who do not fit in to other schools – this type of schooling is also often referred to as ‘cottage schooling’. ESC follows the Western Cape Education Department Curriculum (the CAPS curriculum as determined by the National Department of Education)as presented through Impaq and is a registered Impaq learning center (and learning material is provided by an UMALUSI accredited service provider.  ESC is a registered Tutor Centre).

The Educators at ESC have experience working with different developmental delays; including Asperger’s Syndrome, attention deficit disorder (ADD); attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities and are uniquely equipped to provide a quality education to children who do not fall within the normal confines of the educational system.

The pace is adjusted to each child’s needs; meaning that more focus is given to the areas where a child needs the most attention. This is done to ensure that the foundation is solid, before moving on to newer information and lessons. This however does not mean that the children fall behind – the educators are well equipped to get through the curriculum; and lay the right foundation while still completing all the work required for the year.

What can ESC do for your child?

  • ESC will appoint well qualified educators to ensure your child receives the best education possible.
  • ESC will facilitate all classes for your child. School hours are from 08:00 – 12:00 on Mondays, and 08:00 – 13:30 Tuesday – Fridays.
  • ESC will ensure that your child’s education meets (and exceeds) the curriculum as set out by the Western Cape Educational Department by only offering a high standard of education.
  • ESC will assist your child if they have any development delays or learning disabilities.
